Glenwood Springs is the Ultimate Destination for Outdoor Enthusiasts
Our town offers an array of possibilities the whole family can enjoy, from whitewater rafting, trail and singletrack biking and hiking, to swimming in the world's largest hot springs swimming pool.
At an elevation of 5,746 feet and with breathtaking views of Mount Sopris, this mountain town is steeped in history and rich tradition. Numerous celebrities and legendary characters have visited the area, including the infamous gunslinger Doc Holliday, gangster Al Capone, and President Theodore Roosevelt. Wherever you go, a piece of Glenwood's history can be found, from its historical landmark buildings that line the downtown to vapor caves that Ute Indians once used for medicinal purposes.
There's always something going on in Glenwood Springs, and it's that buzz of activity that makes our area one of the most exciting places to be in Colorado. In fact, Glenwood was named the Most Fun Town in America by Rand McNally & USA Today's Best of the Road Rally!
During the month of June thousands of locals and visitors gather for the celebration of Strawberry Days. One of the oldest festivals west of the Mississippi, this three-day event includes food, drinks, booths, and live music celebrating Glenwood's unique history. Weekly music concerts, farmers' markets and an honest-to-goodness vaudeville revue are only a few of the experiences we all enjoy.
Whether it is spring, summer, winter or fall, with everything Glenwood has to offer, you and your family are assured a great time.
