Canyon Bikes Photo Gallery
Vans depart daily from the Canyon Bikes office at the Hotel Colorado. Schedules vary from season to season, please call for daily departure options. Shuttle spaces are limited and can fill up fast during summer months. Reservations are recommended.
You will enjoy a 20 minute audio tour of Glenwood Canyon on your way to Dotsero, the trail’s starting point at the east end of the Canyon. The audio tour is narrated by some famous old west characters and includes safety tips, canyon details, local history, and a few tall tales. How did NoName get its name? What kind of name is Dotsero? You’ll need to ride the shuttle to find out!
Once at Dotsero, you will hop on your bike and descend into the spectacular canyon. It is approximately 16 miles from Dotsero back to the Hotel Colorado, downhill (almost) all the way. The trail is safe and easy to follow – we promise, we haven’t lost any riders!
We provide:
- Huge selection of new bikes for all ages, trailers, tag-a-longs and tandems
- Trail map
- Helmets
- Locks
- Handlebar Packs
- Trailside assistance
The shuttle and bike package includes a full day equipment rental. So, take your time! This is not a race. We recommend you take a picnic to enjoy along the way. Rest areas offer clean restrooms facilities, fresh drinking water and pay phones for trailside assistance.
Stop at the Hanging Lake Trailhead (be sure to lockup the bike, locks are included) and walk up to one of the most amazing lakes in the world! This lakebed was formed many thousands of years ago when a fault in the earth caused the land to fall away. As water ran over the edge, dissolved carbonates formed a rim, and eventually the lake. Just above the lake is Spouting Rock, where a fissure in the rock forms a waterfall. This a great way to cool off in the summer.
Feel free to stop along your ride back to town and enjoy this glorious canyon. It is a photographers dream. Move your bikes to avoid blocking the trail and explore away!
If you enjoy geocaching, bring along your gps and search for hidden treasures. Geocaching is a high-tech treasure hunting game played throughout the world by adventure seekers equipped with GPS devices. See geocaching.com for more info.
The Glenwood Canyon Trail is probably one of the most incredible bike rides in all of Colorado. Many riders return year after year, season after season (often with new friends or relatives in tow) to enjoy an afternoon biking surrounded by nature.
